Ardean Peters: Toronto Photographer | People & Light

Lakeshore Photoshoot Sneak Peak | Toronto Portrait Photographer

Editing (and lot’s of it) this session, I’m reminded how much I love natural light. My client asked me which I preferred; shooting in studio or on location with natural light. I admit, I had to stop and think about it. There is definitely an advantage to shooting indoors and not having to worry about weather, but working outdoor in natural light won out. There is something great  about scouting as you shoot, looking for and discovering great light pockets. And there is always the challenge of how to make it work – like with this session that I shot from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, when the sun is the highest and the harshest. You have to find spots that work both compositionally and provide good soft light and I love when I hit it. It’s the best feeling.
