Neda’s Wonderland shoot — Behind the Scenes

I had the pleasure of assisting Miss Neda Ahmad, back in July, on a creative shoot she dreamed up:  An Alice in Wonderland theme.  Maria was kind enough to lend her backyard as the set.  You can see Maria demonstrating ‘how to jump’, in the slideshow below.  We’ll ignore the fact that it was exceedingly hot that day.  Sun stroke hot to be exact – if you weren’t keeping hydrated and staying in the shade.  Neda organized all the models and props, including an animal actor – her Siamese cat :)  We even had a white rabbit; baby son to one of the models playing ‘Alice’.  It was great to see the prop table being set up by Maria and fun decorating the apple tree’s with tea cups!  Neda’s still working on her edits from the shoot, so I thought I’d post my behind the scenes shots – plus some photos I did with one of our Alice’s. Yes, we had two! :)

A Beautiful Family — Toronto Family Photographer

A couple of sunday’s ago, I met up with my friend for dinner and family portraits in the park. I met S. in college; I was doing Fashion Desgin and she Fashion Merchandising. We re-connected a few years ago and have kept in touch. I took pictures of her when baby B. was still in her tummy {gotta post those some time!} and then she asked me recently, if I could do portraits with both her boys. There was a cute little park close by, so we headed over there. It was a good afternoon, with nice even light. I could have stayed shooting them for much longer, but belly’s were getting hungry and bedtime for baby had to be maintained. I am so pleased with these, as I think we caught the natural-ness and fun loving attitude of this little clan. You’ll definitely be seeing more of this Sexy mama, as I plan to enlist her in some boudoir shoot tests! Oh, and btw, she fed me pork-chops and Yorkshire pudding after – yum!

Ese Osa – Fashion Portrait | Toronto Portrait Photographer

A couple of weekends ago, on a Saturday morning in Toronto, I finally met up with model, Ese Osa, to shoot. We had communicated many times over the last year, trying to coordinate a time – and finally I was ready to shoot. As you can see by his Modelling profile, he is very easy on the eyes and photographs well. I’m not a fashion photographer and you can see that in the way I shoot, so I’m calling this a ‘Fashion Portrait’ shoot. We were so lucky to have this great light filtering into shots taken in the alley. I didn’t have too much to do in post at all. I’d definitely like to try this again, with a stylist and makeup artist on board and with more of a concept in place. Working with Ese Osa was so easy and comfortable for our first time shooting together; I definitely look forward to doing it again.
