Drumingler — Rhythmic Networking

I was invited in by the warm atmosphere, funky framed mirrors and photos on the wall. And plants. I miss having plants.
I loved the missed-matched chairs the most. I chose a green one.

This set the stage for Michelle Currie’s {Meditative Arts}, “Drumingler” Networking event, last Wednesday, that I was lucky enough to attend, which was hosted at The Tampered Press in Toronto.

I’ve been to a few networking events, but this was truly different. African Drumming! I’d listened to people play in the past at various events, but this was my first time actually playing one – and how much fun it was!

It was also interactive, facilitated by Michelle’s instruction in how to play, and then extended by her encouragement of us to share thoughts and ideas that surfaced during playing, some ofΒ  which included:

  • Power
  • Strength
  • Collaboration
  • ‘Be in the moment’
  • Starting
  • Okay to change

Interesting that a lot of these thoughts/ideas relate to what I’m doing now and where I’m going with my photography πŸ™‚

I had a great time meeting and drumming with all the ladies and would recommend anyone to give it a try anytime!

At the end of the evening there was a draw, for the Head shot session I donated, to 1 lucky winner, in attendance that night for the event. Congrats Inderpal! Looking forward to our session πŸ™‚
