Crush Sunday: Ikea

I have had a love affair with Ikea, ever since that first catalogue appeared in our mail slot as a teen. It was one of the first times I saw and really appreciated that there were different ways to decorate your home, apart from the traditional caribbean style curated by my parents. As luck would have it, I also loved the clean lines of Swedish style. It represented to me, that you could have simplicity, beauty and organization in home design. Ikea also was one of the first to make good design affordable to the masses. Along with upping your game in allen key usage. One of my favourite places is definitely Ikea. From the Lingonberry juice to the cheap hot dogs that just taste better at Ikea with a hot cinnamon roll. To sitting down in the cafeteria to a full hot meal for $5-$6 bucks and taking a break before heading back out to the showcase area. There is always something to find at Ikea. And in case you’re wondering, yes, that is the Alvine Strå Duvet cover on my bed. I picked it up last week, from Ikea.
I love Ikea

Oh, I hadn’t noticed that. To be honest, I haven’t done a proper sit down and flip through of the catalogue recently. I just head right into the store after doing a quick search on their website – ’cause I typically know what I want. But I can see both sides, a lot of people might be buying it & not fully embracing the minimalist aspect – and they could feel like they aren’t getting the same ‘look’. I definitely love the minimal look and lifestyle. So freeing!
