City Folk | a challenge – shooting live musicians. and even moreso, when it’s in a darkly lit club. I shot these at iso1600-3200, f5.6-f2.8, 1/15 to 1/40. did i say challenge?
but really cool. live music is so different, so engaging. and you know that amazing feeling of ‘one-ess’, when everyone is totally into it – very cool. hoping to get out to more live shows, and maybe take some more pictures 🙂
so after seeing them perform live in May, I was invited to their Live Recording Session in Aug. And of course I brought my cam. the banner below is a selection of pics of the entire band, captured during the session. Make sure to check out their website here and become a fan here. And look out for their new release!! {Check the link here for a few more behind the scenes shots.}

I think you did an amazing job!
It is a challenge to shoot moving subject with insufficient light!
I think that the way you photographed them y exposing the lights just enough, gives the viewer a better feel to the day and event. Thanks for sharing.

thanks girl! so hard – which will be easier with the new cam now – but then i think, back in the day, music photogs shooting on film and what max iso of 800?? they did it!
maybe i’ll challenge myself to shooting with the 50mm 1.4 at a max of 1600 iso – then you really really gotta wait for the ‘moment’. 🙂
