This phenomenally beautiful woman stepped in front of my camera back in May. She graciously allowed me to photograph her for my Natural Hair Portrait Project. Her colours are bold and vibrant and beautiful, much like her personality and her words. She writes. She is a poet. Along with talking hair (of course), we also discussed being artists (something I hesitate to call myself) and about creating and doing your work and #creatingspace. Making room for other artists, encouraging other artists. To create is hard work. To put yourself ‘out’ there, is hard work. To make the leap, is hard work. So to #createspace and support each other (in everything really), is important; necessary. Thank you Lamoi. I would love to talk again some time. Anytime. And as for the Project, I have a lot more images to go through, so keep checking out my blog for more previews like this. And let me know in the comments below, as an #Artist, what is your greatest challenge? π
These are wonderful, expressive portraits; the first on the left being my favourite. Great smile.
Interesting idea for a project; looking forward to seeing more!
